Poll: God's Judgment

In my last post, I asked whether or not Paul believed God would judge the elect. On the question of salvation/condemnation he is clear. But on the question of reward/punishment he is more ambiguous. Faith and works were both essential, but did a believer have to fear any divine punishment? Read that post and then vote in the following poll, if you wish.

Key texts to keep in mind are Rom 2, Rom 8:33-34, Rom 14:10-12, I Cor 3:10-15, I Cor 4:1-5, II Cor 5:10, and Philip 2:12b-13.

waive you through? Doesn't he say something about neither life nor death can come between you and the love of God? In Paul's experiential frame, the question is too limiting.

Following:

Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (I Cor 3:13 - 15)

I voted yes.

I voted yes too. But I wonder if the author of Gmatthew isnĀ“t a bit harder on the fate of lapsing christians on the big judgement day than Paul. Matthean parables like the wedding feast and the ten maidens (and a lot more in the gospel) indicate that some christians who cry Lord, Lord without producing fruits will not enter the Kingdom
